| With all the work I've put into Willhaven lately, I've gotten the agreement of a cool guy from my gym to do voice acting for the player's main companion. He is also a gamer and has worked professionally in video game project management as well as creating L4D2 mods for fun. However, he has never played Fallout. He wants to get the game and play it so he will understand Willhaven better.
That brings me to the point of this thread. I want to discuss the ideal mod list.
NOT post your fav mods NOT post your load order
Rather I want to discuss this with a more comprehensive view in mind. Think about it this way...
If Fallout New Vegas was brought to a next-gen console but included mods, and you had the opportunity to influence what mods became vanilla content, what would you pick? Keep in mind:
- stability - lore friendliness - performance - compatibility - sheer awesome factor - variety?
I look forward to your thoughts! |

| I would hope to see these mods: Fps Hold a breath, PN, Prone Mode, True Leaning, WOTNM. I would be disappointed if the prone mod and or true leaning mod was missing...and maby we could purchase ENBs'. _________________

| Mods that fix various graphic issues. Quest issues. then finally those that add content like some of the above. Someguy's mods are almost a must.
Someguys mods really fit into the environment and flesh out content.
I like NMM for some of the textures and there is a variety of levels of texture for your taste Perhaps a mix of sizes. No need for 2k textures for a glass, you get the point. He even has fixes for screen ratio.. very nice. Finally lighting mods etc. Fellout is what I use primarily but other mods that create a more engaging and modern visuals.
Finlally those mods that fix the follower issues. You really should be able to have more than one human/human like follower at a time.
As an extra.. perhaps another follower like Willow or N'iner. Both are pretty fleshed out already. _________________ |

| NVEC would include ALOT of fixes, it also include NVCE which redesign some of the characters faces without adding new textures like FCO so it would be more fitting into a vanilla game. Although it does adds some stuff that aren't so lore friendly (coyote reflex armor, Nightvision that doesn't require any gear etc.). Already have NVB 1 and 2 include along some of the other someguy's quest mods.
compatility is fine with NVEC, theres quite a few patches made for it already.
Replacer mods: weapon animation replacers (it have different animations choices though), texture replacers (FNV hi-res clothings, book of water, Millennia's weapon texture, NMC etc.), i would use ones that doesnt require additional ESP and are just straight up replacers. The exception for this is probably ADAM or CNR, i wouldn't use the added NCR patrol ESP from ADAM.
Weathers: Nevada Skies vs Project Reality vs FNV Realistic Lighting...For "next-gen" i would go with Nevada Skies. I like FNV RWL more right now because its a bit less stressful on my PC.
NPCs: Vulpes Companion mod...because where the fuck are the evil companions???
Weapons: CFW maybe? they're not very high quality but very lore fitting. As great as Millennia's Weapons are, most of them aren't lore friendly. There really isn't much selection weapons Mods IMO. WMX and EVE(already include in NVEC but an older version) are must.
Armor: There really only 1 armor mods that fit well into a vanilla game IMO and its Spice of Life.
Sheer COOLNESS mods: XRE Vertibird, XRE Cars, Enclave Commander. |
