| Hey guys, I’ve been wondering for awhile, are there any mods to make Fallout 4 more tactical? Like RTS, from a FPS view?
I’ve got one of those increase-enemy-spawns-by-a-helluva-lot mods, and one of those unlimited companion mods. I usually kit them out for a specific role of sorts, like Preston will be a rifleman/marksman, Nick the Machinegunner (of sorts), etc etc.
The mod I have loaded (tee party, sure a fair amount of you have it), allow me to change the follow distance but that’s about it. I need to switch out my weapon to command the companions individually, and only in the usual commands. The “companions scout forward” mod didn’t work for me last time, but I may try again.
Anyone have any suggestions?

| Amazing Follower Tweaks
You'll thank me. I used to use a couple of the mods you mentioned...They pale in comparison to this one. I can't recommend it enough. It has some crazy detail in what you can do to your followers as far as settings. It has some drawbacks, like it conflicts with Pip-pad and anything that adds followersscript.pex, such as Vertibird Overhaul...but in my opinion the diversity of options AFT allows far outweigh those drawbacks. You can set companion outfits, roles, stats, you can set their default home location when you dismiss them, even to mod added places or interiors. The can build camps, and you can even use Curie to revive your spouse. Its pretty crazy everything the mod does. |

| Thanks for the suggestions!
I have seen the take cover mod before, but as I prefer to play in first person I overlooked it. I may try it though, since there’s that perspective swapping thing.
AFT definitely sounds like something to look into!
Perhaps I also need to specify what I mean by squad based... like order a companion to take position in one place to cover my butt, while being able to recall them without too much hassle. or to have them follow in a spread out formation, rather than a near-perfect straight line.

| Besides the vanilla companion commands of "go here, do that" I don't know of any mod that pulls commands off smoothly like you're talking about. AFT doesn't have formations but you can select individual follower distances, so you could at least space them out like a tactical column. |
