PostSubject: Favorite Facial mod for Fallout?   Wed 8 Feb 2017 - 2:07

I think we can all agree that Fallout 3's and New Vegas' vanilla faces are downright UGLY, and not in a good way either, seeing that the games are set in a post apocalyptic time period. Even for games that came out in around the late 2000s and early 10s, they still look pretty damn hideous in the graphical aspect. Of all the positives Fallout 3 and New Vegas has, the facial department is not one of them. Fallout 4 has definitely improved on graphics, especially for the NPCs. Every NPC in that game feels like their own character seeing how the character customization is really in depth. Thank the PC Gods that mods are there to fix this. Now there are quite a few mods that fixes Fallout 3 and New Vegas' faces, but not so many for Fallout 4. For Fallout 3, it is obvious, but in my opinion it is an essential mod, It's FO3 Redesigned(formally known as Project Beauty). This mod sets out to fix the man facial misteps that Fallout 3 had by making them look more realistic and fit their personality much, much better. Whether it being small changes to the face, to big changes to make them fit their personality more.

For FNV, I was really tied between choosing FNV Redesigned 3 or FCO 3.0, but for me, it has to Redesigned 3. I love FCO, but Redesigned 3 goes beyond just giving a more next gen look to the characters of the game. Redesigned 3 does the same thing as FO3 Redesigned, but on another level. Redesigned 3 goes to the point of completely changing the look of certain characters so that they look more in line to their voice actors(i.e, First Sergeant Astor) Redesigned also uses FCO assets to help with the process. For someone that LOVES FCO, I saw that as a plus in my book. It doesn't only change the looks of NPCs though, Dracomies went out of his way to add details to NPCs that gives a much more realistic look to the description of their character. For example, all the dead NPCs you find in the game are most likely changed to look like they're actually... dead. Blind Luke, which you find in the New Vegas sewers, originally looked like he was sleeping with his eyes open, but in Redesigned 3, he looks like an actual rotting corpse. Another great example is Mayor Stein from Nipton. Boxcars(who has the mouth of a nun) tells us that Mayor Stein was burned alive in a pile of burning tires. If we look in that pile of burning tires, he is nowhere to be found. In Redesigned 3, his burnt corpse is found in the pile, looking more crispy than a well done steak. Now Dracomies is currently working on a new mod called A Brave New World(formally known Fallout New Vegas Redesigned 4). This mod, he said is the most ambitious out of the whole Redesigned series. What he is actually going to do is:

1. Replace many character's voice actors with new ones that give much more emotion and fit the character more.

2. Add back in some cut content like being able to talk to the Fiend bosses(Cook-Cook, Nephi Driver)

3. From what I have seen on his page and Casting Call page, he is going to add new characters and possible quests to add to the immersion of New Vegas.

I am very excited.

Anyways, what is your favorite facial mod for Fallout?

Personally, I play mainly female characters and use anything to make them look good. I do however use Fallout Character Overhaul for the more realistic look.

I use New Vegas Redesigned. I wish you could have the Fallout Character Overhaul plug in active at the same time, but I prefer what NVR overhauls.

FCO for me because it was the first mod I used that overhauled faces and I still have that loyalty to it.

TBH, faces dont bother me too much in FO3 or FNV. Oblivion potato faces were terrible and desperately needed mods to even consider immersing yourself in.

I used to like FCO until I started noticing all the faces have excessive cheek bones and all have a particulary strange look to them

I'm looking forward to New Vegas redesigned 4

@MotionlessGhost Actually, there is a guide that shows you how to use FCO 3.0 and NVR3 at the same time. http://imgur.com/yvW5xiB I followed the guide and I got no compatibility issues at all. Joy Dance
