Well now that we've established that, I don't suppose you'd be willing to answer a brief question regarding the community before I shove off for a most enjoyable shindig involving fireworks.

That question being; Do I need to earn a valued reputation on GUN before I'm permitted to view all the works of a user, such as all of their previous uploads?

According to their FAQ no, just help people out when they have bugs, greet newcomers and just be active on the site, over time you will accumulate reputation points from other users and the admins will then consider you for a promotion,
I should say that there are many mods that don't need that promotion, Dragbody does release sample and public packs with races such as Joel and Nathan drake, there's also Hitman and ShinyHax (I think), who make amazing animation mods, in fact Hitman just released one of these on the nexus.

I can't tell you how long it will take to actually be promoted because i haven't been yet, that may be due to me being inactive for some time and possibly breaking a rule on screenshots forum when i first joined, (don't gloss over a forums rules basically).

So to put it in short kinda, you don't have to be as famous as drag body or hitman you just have to be the user that someone can trust to help them out and be a valued part of the community, If you haven't already read the F.A.Q i recommend you do I'm usually awful atexplaining things.

Welcome to GUN! You've made the first step by introducing yourself to our wonderful community! First and foremost, getting promoted shouldn't be your highest priority. Many of the best mods are in the Public section, so you're not missing out of a huge amount of mods. GUN if nothing else is a community. We chat about all manner of things here and just about everybody here is good natured. If there are disagreements, or debates, they're usually done a civil and polite manner.

I do recommend and encourage you to read through the https://www.gunetwork.org/faq, it will answer many questions you may have. Once again, promotion shouldn't be your main objective. It will take time, depending on how active you are. But activiity isn't the only thing Admins look at when they're considering you for promotion. If you make 100 posts but they're all just 3-5 word sentences and not really adding to conservation then they will wait.

Content of your posts are probably the most important thing. When you post in a thread, try to add something to the conversation if you can. It's a community and we want you to be a part of it. We don't expect you to be on everyday, we know you have a life. Just post at least once whenever you visit. We don't expect you to post in every thread even if it doesn't interest you. Post in threads that you like because you're more likely to contribute the conversation in those threads. Just treat people with respect and remember the golden rule and you'll do fine.

One final thing, Reputation isn't a huge factor when it comes to promotions and you don't need to strive to get it really high. It's more like a kudos that people give on Nexus.

How to get mod access

To obtain the special access is relatively easy:

Start or join in discussions, post some screenshots and help a fellow member out wherever you can.

There really isn't a set time where you can say you will be promoted. Before my own promotion I had a wild speculation that it took a minimum of 2 months, yet this is NOT an official time stamp. It all depends on how active you are and how decent your input is in the community.

Try setting your expectation bar for the promotion very high. That way when it happens you'll be more happy when you receive it then when you expect it every month. It doesn't take insanely long you just need to have patience.

Even if you received the promotion the journey doesn't end there, you need to remain active and show that you are grateful for receiving it. The mods you find here are all amazing and great in their own ways but they have to stay in the community. They are not to be spread around across the internet.

Neither the promotion or the mods should be your main priority, but being a part of this grand community. It took me month's after my promotion to even actually try out 1 mod that was previously restricted but now is made public.

Not that the mods aren't great but because this community is THAT amazing.

I'd also like to be assured that you're not getting the wrong impression that I'm just another typical schmuck who came here exclusively for all "teh modz"

I figured I'd join the site since it's got relatively zero toxicity in its community.
That alone is pretty much an instant sell to me, seeing as I've been relatively out of the social loop in terms of things like the nexus.
